Drought Tolerant Landscaping

There is water rationing in Los Gatos, San Jose, Campbell, Saratoga and other cities in Santa Clara County and the South San Francisco Bay area of California.
In your own garden, what should you do if you live in a drought area?
Think trees and water them before other plants in your garden. Trees lower the temperature around them, providing shade for the surrounding plants and lawns. They are also the homes and food source to resident birds and animals.
Trees are expensive to replace and often a beautiful focal point in a garden. An easy way to ensure that they are watered down deep at root level is to use a garden soaker hose on a timed, low drip.
There are more complicated procedures that your garden maintenance service provider can help you with, or email davidross@naturalbridgeslandscaping.com for local help with your trees.
